A well-planned kitchen begins with more than choosing a door style or worktop.

The layout needs to suit the room, the way you cook and the way your household uses the space every day. A kitchen designer looks at the complete room rather than considering cabinets and appliances separately.
The aim is to understand what you need, identify any restrictions and recommend a layout that makes sensible use of the available space.
- Cabinet, appliance and worktop planning
- Storage and preparation-space improvements
- Practical walkways and working areas
- Doors, windows and structural considerations
- Seating and social-space planning
- Realistic design images and detailed plans
C&C Kitchens is an independent, second-generation family kitchen company based in Cheshunt, working predominantly with homeowners in Hertfordshire and North London.
From your first ideas to a kitchen ready to order
Our design process takes your project from the initial conversation through to detailed plans for the finished kitchen.

Initial consultation and design brief
We begin by discussing your room, priorities, preferred kitchen styles and what you want the new layout to improve. Approximate measurements, rough dimensions or architects’ plans can be used to start the planning process.
Kitchen planning
Your designer considers cabinet positions, appliances, storage, worktop space and movement around the room. This is where practical questions about islands, tall units, seating and walkways are resolved.
Computer-aided design
We prepare computer-aided drawings and realistic kitchen images so you can review the proposed layout, proportions, colours and important features before making final decisions.
Design consultation and quotation
The proposed design is reviewed with you alongside a detailed quotation. This gives you an opportunity to compare suitable products, discuss alternatives and refine the plan.
Site survey
Accurate physical measurements are taken before final production. This confirms that the proposed kitchen can be manufactured and installed correctly within the finished room.
Final plans and project coordination
Final plans and detailed elevations are prepared, including service information where applicable. C&C Kitchens can then coordinate the kitchen from order sign-off through delivery and kitchen installation.
Kitchen design led by experience
Tom, our Design Manager, leads the kitchen design team at C&C Kitchens. The aim is to produce a layout that works for the room rather than trying to force every requested feature into the available space.
Small changes to cabinet widths, appliance positions and circulation space can make a noticeable difference to the way the finished kitchen works.
C&C Kitchens normally offers kitchen installation only. General building work, decorating, flooring, plumbing, gas work and electrical work are not automatically included unless specifically agreed for the project.
Practical decisions behind a successful layout
Kitchen planning often involves balancing several competing priorities.

You may want an island, additional storage and a larger dining area, but the available room may not comfortably accommodate everything. An experienced designer should explain the compromises clearly and recommend which decisions will provide the greatest practical benefit.
Adjusting cabinet widths, appliance positions or the depth of an island can improve circulation. Moving a tall housing may preserve an important sightline, while a pantry or dresser may provide more useful storage than several smaller cabinets.
The strongest layouts are those that make sensible use of the room and improve everyday cooking, storage and movement.
